CALENDAR: Shabbat and Holidays Observed
Our monthly Shabbat Service ismember-led, with music led by Ben Brussell. We hold them on Fridays and occasional Saturdays during the day.. All are welcome.
Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Tashlikh
Our commemorations for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur offer an intelligent, honest, and dignified way to celebrate the Jewish New Year. Our services, held at varying locations, are highlighted by meaningful readings, poetry, and music, including Kol Nidre and the blowing of the shofar. Tickets are free for members and can be purchased by non-members.
We recall the events surrounding the holiday and the relevance for today at a party with music, the lighting of hanukkiot (menorahs), and food, including, of course, latkes.
We celebrate the "birthday of the trees" as an environmental observance and mini-seder.
Our community Seder is a highlight of the year and is made especially meaningful with a unique secular humanist haggadah.
We celebrate sukkot at a member's home where a sukka is built and decorated by community members and we share a meal inside.
